Terrible News Out From The Clemson Tigers Football Family

The Clemson football community is reeling from the tragic news of Diondre Overton’s untimely passing at the age of 26. The university announced the heartbreaking development on Saturday, September 7, 2024, sending shockwaves through the college football world.

Overton, a standout wide receiver for the Tigers from 2016 to 2019, was an integral part of Clemson’s national championship-winning teams in 2016 and 2018. During his collegiate career, he amassed impressive statistics, recording 52 receptions for 777 yards and seven touchdowns across 51 games.

The Greensboro, North Carolina native joined Clemson as a highly-touted four-star recruit in 2016. Throughout his time with the Tigers, Overton showcased his skills on the field and his leadership off it, earning the respect of teammates and coaches alike. In his senior year, he was voted a permanent team captain, highlighting his impact on the program.
